Day 1!

So this is where our journey starts!

I woke up at 9am and went to make breakfast. I used to wake up at 8.30am, but I have been sleeping late recently. Will try to get back to that!

So here's breakfast!
1 banana, 2 eggs scrambled with some pepper and salt, 10 almonds and green tea.
After that, I spent some time chatting with my mum and trying to figure out how to make a collage of photos from my 21st birthday.

Then around 11.30am I had my mid morning snack!
1 slice of wholemeal wrap with hummus, thinly spread.
I had honestly never tried Hummus until quite recently. I never knew what it was and my brother said it wasn't nice so I didn't try it. It wasn't until about a month back, I was at the supermarket waiting for the butcher to cut some meat for me. It was there that I saw an advert for Hummus and what ingredients were inside! It all sounded fine to me since I like chickpeas, so I bought the tub you see in the picture, and never regretted it. I haven't tried any other brands yet, but I will once I finish this tub!

You can definitely heat up the wrap before spreading the Hummus, but I just eat it straight out from the fridge. Call me lazy but I don't really mind. Tastes fine to me!

For mid morning snacks, you can feel free to explore other options. If you don't like Hummus, you can have a wholemeal wrap with turkey ham or avocados, or natural peanut butter!

I will definitely share other mid morning snacks on the days to come!

So anyway, back to my day. I had to go back to work for a meeting (I work part-time) during and after lunch. I couldn't pack food from home because there wasn't any microwave where I was meeting my colleagues.

So at 1pm I had lunch at the staff lounge. And trust me, the only thing there that wasn't fried for the day was chicken rice. Oh such sinful food D:

I don't have a picture of it since it was the first time I was meeting a colleague from another department, and we had important things to discuss, so there isn't any picture for lunch! I'll just share that I ate 2 sliced cucumbers, about half a fistful of chicken cutlet cooked in soya sauce, and about a fistful of rice. (I just can't resist chicken rice, it tastes really good. Haha.) But I didn't finish the rest of the rice even though I know I have the capability to do so. xP

Skipped my mid afternoon snack since I was in another meeting.

Back home! Had dinner around 6.40pm. My mother decided to have some Japanese style steamboat!!
Cabbage, shitake mushrooms, tofu, fishballs, white clams, leek, carrots and pork cooked in Dashi stock!

My first bowl of food. Had a second bowl of similar things. Hehehe
Steamboat... Where people tend to overeat. >.< But thankfully our steamboat only had veggies and some pork. So we could eat as much as we wanted to! I limited myself to 2 small bowls. Didn't want to overeat since I had chicken rice for lunch!

I don't have any tips for eating less when you're having steamboat. There is honestly no way other than to be conscious of how much you are eating! You can always pile on the veggies, but if your steamboat has a lot of other things like sausages, crab sticks, noodles etc, just remember to limit how much you can eat. Remember, you're not supposed to feel full until you can't move or until your stomach hurts! That would just mean you overate!!

After dinner I had 1/3 of a mango and continued creating this blog and typing out the first post!

Once my stomach had settled, I went on to complete Week 1 Day 1 exercise routine from the workout guide, Four Weeks to Fit by Anna Victoria. Do click on the link if you want to read more about the workout guides and meal plans she has! I have done at least 2 weeks of her exercise guide, and 3 weeks of her meal plan before I stopped. (Had a lot of celebrations going on. Chinese New Year and my 21st birthday) Hahaha. So I decided to start anew! I stopped for 2 weeks in total.

Honestly, her workout plans are pretty simple. In fact I doubted them because they were so easy during week 1. After I did the workouts, I thought I wasn't doing it right or doing enough! But boy was I wrong. The next day I was aching. So do not doubt the workouts!!!

It was from following her guides that I was able to drop from 66kg to my current weight of 64.45kg. So honestly I'd say it is pretty effective. Especially since I did not follow her guides very strictly.

For example, I don't eat avocado. I mean I do, but there comes a point where I eat too much and then feel like puking because it is too rich. Then I feel sick the whole day. And I don't like plain Greek yogurt cause it is sour. And I don't believe in taking protein shakes etc. So I learnt to replace these things with other nutritious stuff! And also stuff that isn't too expensive cause I can't be eating quinoa every week or more than 10 eggs a week. I'd go broke!! But I do follow the idea of having 5-6 small meals a day. It definitely helped me stop overeating.

For her workouts, I didn't do them every day. Sometimes I had more than 1 rest day in between. You know those days, after you come home from a bad day at work, you just want to lie on the floor and do nothing but zone out and pet your dogs...... maybe it's just me but you get the point!

So even with all those slip ups, I still lost weight! It's really amazing so I can't wait to actually follow the whole thing through and see what results I get at the end!!! Both the meal plan and exercise plan are more affordable compared to other guides I have seen or bought (Will share on those another time). And I honestly feel that it is worth the money.

But different things work for different people. Some lose weight faster than others. But that's the beauty of trying out different things I guess. You try many different guides and plans until you find one that fits you and most importantly works for you, and you make it your own!!

We all come from different countries with different lifestyles and food culture. So I encourage you, if you're trying to get fit too, to try many things and find something that works for you!

So that's it for today!

It is currently 9.30pm.
I'm just gonna play Sims 4 till I sleep at 10.30pm
(yes, I play Sims 4 and yes, sleeping early is good for you! When you can sleep early that is)

Goodnight! :)
